Not a DIY job. Take it to an auto glass shop, and let the experts handle this. Yeah. sure, like changing the water pump is not a DIY job but that one saved me 800 bucks. This is a 200 dollar job in Australia, they even come to your door and do it so you should consider Clay's alternative anyway. However I have rust to clear out so I don't want the glass in and out same day. My only warning with this is what I've heard, that in worst cases the old windscreen may break. I'm removing a cracked one already so that's not an issue. Here is the procedure I used from the 83-92 Chiltons Camry Manual: 1. Disconnect negative battery cable. 2. Remove any sunvisors, holders, front assist grips and inner rear view mirror if any are present. 3. Remove Front pillar garnishes, hood, wiper arms and cowl panel or Louver (the vent below the exterior windscreen cavity). 4. Remove hood weatherstrip by pulling upwards. Try not to tear it. 5. Remove retainer screws and outside windshield moulding. 6. Tape the end of a scraper and insert between the body and upper windshield moulding. Pry the moulding upwards, remove it from the clips and remove moulding completely once it's freed. 7. Push piano wire from the interior of vehicle outward (and place some sort of handle to control the wire). Cut the adhesive by pulling on the piano wire around the windshield, assisted by someone outside the car. You should now be able to remove the windshield. Reinstallation is essentially reversal of this procedure after cleaning up the contact points and any old sealant. Take note of where the old sealant is. New sealant should be placed to a thickness of at least 10mm bead. Good luck!
