loosen drain plug on trans. pan ,drain trans. fluid into pan. Then undo trans. pan bolts and remove pan. Keep large oil container under tranny to catch drips. now comes the fun , CLEAN,CLEAN,CLEAN the tranny pan, especially the inside, you want it so clean you can eat off it. That includes the magnets,DONT forget to put magnets back in. clean mating surface of transmission, removing any old gasket material.DO NOT GLUE GASKET TO PAN OR TRANNY!!!!!!!!!!,replace filter, then apply a little grease (clean grease) to pan just to hold gasket in position while you align it back up. get acouple of screws started and put in rest of screws making sure gasket does not slip inside tranny pan,. then tighten evenly and gentle,DO not tighten so tight that gasket squeezes out ! noe afetr you get your back back, pour in Transmission Fluid thru dip stick of transmission ,put in 2 quarts, crank up car ,shift the car thru gears,p,n,d,r, etc. Make sure to keep foot on brake so car wont jump forward or back. then put in park, check fliud level.probably will take 4 qts. total, but put the last 2 qts. in 1/2 qt. at a time and keep recheck with engine running.
