To change the water pump and timing belt on a 1998 Matiz SE Plus, start by disconnecting the battery and removing the engine cover. Drain the coolant, then remove the timing belt cover and the old timing belt, noting the belt routing. Replace the water pump by removing its bolts, cleaning the mounting surface, and installing the new pump with a new gasket. Finally, install the new timing belt and tensioner, ensuring proper tension and alignment before reassembling the components and refilling the coolant.
The water pump should be driven by the timing belt, yes. If you change the water pump, you might wanna change the timing belt and tensioner while you're in there.
1.4 Eight valve engine. The water pump is the timing belt tensioner on this model. you need to slacken the pump and rotate it to tension the belt.
Seven years or 70,000 miles. Change Tiing belt, tensioner and water pump at the same time.
If the timing belt drives the water pump you should also replaced it at the same time. Also inspect the tensioner and replace as necessary.
To change a Vauxhall Corsa timing change you need to first remove the rocker cover, the alternator tensioner, heat shield, water pump, engine mount, and crankshaft pulley. Now that you have found the timing change, unscrew the timing chain guides, remove old chain, and replace with new chain.
To change the water pump on a 1993 Mazda MX-3 with a 4-cylinder engine, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal and drain the coolant. Remove the drive belts, then take off the timing cover and loosen the timing belt tensioner to remove the timing belt. With the timing belt out of the way, unbolt the old water pump, clean the mating surfaces, and install the new pump with a new gasket. Reassemble in reverse order, ensuring proper alignment of the timing belt and tensioner.
The water pump is the tensioner for the timing belt. if you need to adjust it, replace it.
Since you are already in there, it is best to replace that along with the tensioner, rollers, thermostat, coolant, and both timing and serpentine belts.

If a 2.7L V6 you will need intake, valve cover, timing cover gaskets and a front main. You will also nee do inspect the timing chain, guides, and tensioner. If a 2.4L you don not have to change anything else if the timing belt is ok.
the water pump is driven by the timing belt. highly recommended to replace the tensioner, tensioner and idler pullies, and cam seals.
