The procedure may be different for various models, but your owner's manual should list it specifically. From what I can recall, I believe you have to crank the engine while the accelerator pedal is fully pressed down. This causes the fuel pump to not operate which in turn forces the engine to burn up whatever excess fuel is present while attempting to start. After a few of these "dry" starts, try to start the car normally.
