Odds are you have a problem with your ABS Module. Mine does the same thing. Check to see that when you turn the key on to either acc or run see if your brake lights are on, best to check that in total darkness, make sure your parking lights are shut off. I'm not sure the exact cause, but its a start. Have the same issue on my 92 Rodeo. Been told by reputable (my opinion) mechanic that it is a bad sensor. The sensor is mounted on the top of the rear differential. Am presently trying to locate a new one. Will advise when/if found. I am experiencing the same issue on a 98 Rodeo. I had the differential speed sensor replaced at Pep Boys but now they tell me the ABS won't reset so the light stays on and I may have to take it to a dealer to get it reset. That doesn't make sense to me so I am doing some additional research. If I find a good solution, I'll post here. (jamesh58)

Update (jamesh58) - It seems you must calibrate the sensor when finished in the following manner which I will try later today.

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=193043 The owners manual states stop the car immediately. Shut it off, start it up again and for about quarter to half mile do not exceed 8 mph, go slow and the light will shut off. If the light comes back on, repeat the same. If it does not go off or it returns, have it serviced.
