To open a Mazda 3 key fob, locate the small slot or notch on the side of the fob. Use a flathead screwdriver or a coin to gently pry apart the two halves of the fob. Be careful not to apply too much force to avoid damaging the casing. Once opened, you can replace the battery or access the internal components as needed.

#1. Release Key by pressing down on the release panel on the side (it has a key insignia on the lever) #2. Remove key by pulling chain with release panel open at the same time. #3. Use flat pry tool (pocket knife) to separate sides of fob. #4. Remove old battery. #5 Replace with new battery (#1632) in 2007 Camry. #6. Snap sides back together. #7. Reinsert key. #3. Rather than using a "flat pry tool," try the end of the key. This answer is just flat-out wrong. The keyfob has a sliding cover, and if you try to pry apart the sides of the fob, you will break it.

Remove the spare key from the key fob then gently pry the two halves apart from this open area. Once apart, remove the keypad unit to reveal the battery compartment. The battery will be a CR 2032 3 volt cell flat watch battery. To re-assemble, just reverse the process. Scott
