With the thermostat.
12 DEGREES before top dead center at 900 rpm with the egr and purge lines disconnected and plugged and the engine is at operating temp
why doesn't my rpm gauge and temp gauge, fuel gauge not work
replace engine temp sensor. trans won't shift into o/d until engine has warmed up. there are two sensors, one for the temp guage and one for the computer.
1996 prelude temperature gauge reads low temp
temp gauge is stuck on hot
only 3 reasons a temp gauge wont work the temp sender is bad the gauge is bad or the wire from temp sender to gauge is broken
how do you replace coolant temp sensor on a rodeo
This is a long shot: Take a jumper wire from the engine block to a good chassis ground. Sometimes the engine/drivetrain is so well (electrically) insulated that various items won't work if the bonding strap was left off. You'll oftentimes find that the bonding strap is connected to the head and may have been overlooked during an r&r.
The temp sending unit for the temp gauge is located on the drivers side of the engine between cylinders 3 and 5 spark plugs.
the haynes manual says the fluid is serviced from the overfill port 1996+ (in corner of trany pan). -run car for 3 mins -while running in neutral -inside port, place temp gauge -wait until temp is 90-135 deg -pump fluid in with syringe or special pump until fluid starts to run out of same hole.. still doesn't make sense to me.. let me know if you find the special temp gauge.. good luck! -Danno oh yeah, no dipstick, system is sealed to get Isuzu dealers paid...
Thermostat stuck open or no stat at all. Faulty temp sensor or Gauge.
Replacing the gauge could be a costly job but it is seldom the gauge goes bad. More likely the temp gauge sending unit is at fault. Replacing the temp gauge sending unit would take less than 15 minutes.
