To remove the cam pulley from a 2004 Mazda, first ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Then, remove any components obstructing access to the cam pulley, such as the timing belt cover. Use a suitable socket to loosen and remove the bolt securing the cam pulley, and gently pull the pulley off the camshaft. Make sure to align the timing marks correctly when reinstalling.
