BIG JOB and you need to have the front end aligned before you drive it. TAke it to a garage.
how much is it going to cost me to replace the back struts on my Nissan maxima
It has 4 struts. The front uses a regular strut assembly. The rear struts have replaceable cartridges.
The cost to replace the front struts on a 2001 Nissan Maxima typically ranges from $600 to $1,200, depending on the quality of the struts, labor rates in your area, and whether any additional parts need replacement. Labor costs can vary significantly, so it's advisable to get quotes from multiple mechanics. Additionally, opting for aftermarket parts might lower the overall cost compared to OEM parts.
how to remove rear struts on 2005 chevy cobalt
After some negotiation, I was able to get a Nissan dealer to replace them for about $600, including parts and labor.
To replace the struts on a 1988 Maxima, start by safely lifting the vehicle and removing the front wheels. Next, disconnect the brake line, sway bar link, and any other attachments to the strut assembly. Remove the strut assembly from the vehicle, then use a spring compressor to safely remove the coil spring from the old strut. Finally, install the new strut, reassemble the components, and repeat for the other side if necessary.
I paid 79.99 each for my back struts then had my dad change them for me. Pretty simple actually
I think it is the struts that are the problem, at least is the problem on mine It sounds like they did not reconnect the struts .. or did not reconnect properly.
i have a 2004 altima and have received quotes for the 2 front struts. one quote is as high as 300 dollars per side..parts, labor, tire balance and front end alignment. this quote is based upon Nissan parts, or what a Nissan dealership would charge to do it. the mechanic said it would be less..but he wouldn't say how much more less. 2nd quote is 115 per side..that's all they said-with the exception that you should replace all 4 at the same time(rolling eyes) You do not have to replace all four struts at once, but you shouldn't just do one at time either. Replace them in pairs if you can't do all four. Struts are around $200 each. I would not recommend having a Nissan dealer replace them because the labor alone is going to cost way too much money; have a local certified mechanic do it instead.
To replace the front struts on a 2000 model Hyundai Sonata, you will first need to remove the tires. There will be 3 nuts on top of the strut mount. You will need to remove the 2 bolts that connect from the strut to the knuckle. Then you will need to remove the ABS sending unit as well as the front brake hose. Once these components are removed, you can remove the strut. In order to remove the strut, you will need a special tool to compress the spring. Once the struts are removed, you can safely replace them with new struts.
Compress the shock spring with a spring compressor. Remove the top strut bolt. Remove the bottom strut bolt. Reverse the process to install the new struts.
Yes because during braking your tire will loose contact with road which will affect our stopping distance. it will also cause waves on the tire and when you do replace your struts you will have a vibration while driving
