i have a 2004 altima and have received quotes for the 2 front struts.
one quote is as high as 300 dollars per side..parts, labor, tire balance and front end alignment. this quote is based upon Nissan parts, or what a Nissan dealership would charge to do it. the mechanic said it would be less..but he wouldn't say how much more less.
2nd quote is 115 per side..that's all they said-with the exception that you should replace all 4 at the same time(rolling eyes)
You do not have to replace all four struts at once, but you shouldn't just do one at time either.
Replace them in pairs if you can't do all four.
Struts are around $200 each.
I would not recommend having a Nissan dealer replace them because the labor alone is going to cost way too much money; have a local certified mechanic do it instead.
how much is it going to cost me to replace the back struts on my Nissan maxima
I paid 79.99 each for my back struts then had my dad change them for me. Pretty simple actually
Shocks and struts are an important part of a car's suspension system. Both shocks and struts are used to keep a vehicle from bouncing when it is being driven. Shocks are less expensive to replace then struts.
It doesn't have struts. It has coil-over shocks.
BIG JOB and you need to have the front end aligned before you drive it. TAke it to a garage.
It has 4 struts. The front uses a regular strut assembly. The rear struts have replaceable cartridges.
Shocks are easy to replace and any DIYer can accomplish that. However if you do not have the proper tools or skill, I suggest you pay a professional to replace the struts. Serious injury can occur when working with struts.
spring struts
About $1000 for me.
580.00
you don't! there are no shocks. you must replace the struts.
I paid $900 for shocks/struts and bushings. I was told that was the "brother in law" discount.
