Where is the LAF sensor located on a 92 honda civic?
Remove the vacuum hose from the sensor. Remove the sensor retaining screws. The sensor will come off. Reverse the process to install the new sensor.
Remove the engine brush cover under the front of the engine. Remove the drive belt to make changing the sensor easier (optional). Remove the lower timing belt cover and the crankshaft pulley to access the crankshaft position sensor. Disconnect the electrical modules from the crankshaft position sensor, located next to the alternator. Take off the bolts with a socket wrench and remove the sensor.
The VSS (Speed Sensor)is on top of the differential housing.

The 1992 Chevy K 1500 speed sensor is located on the back of the transmission. The speed sensor will be in the upper right-hand corner of the transmission.
the speed sensor is located next to the passenger front side tire. probably about a foot away from the tire

On a 5-Speed 3.1L v6 it is on the tail end of the transmission on the drivers side.
If it's a 1992 V6 4Runner with an automatic transmission, the three wire speed sensor for the speedometer is located on the extension housing of the transmission.
On a 1992 F-150 4WD the speed sensor is located on top of the rear axle. It is a small bracket and bolt that hold it in place on the axle.
For automatic transmission 2002 Jetta TDI, the speed sensor is easy to replace. The symptom of bad speed sensor is the speedo stops working (so you want know the speed of the car while driving). The sensor is located on the transmission, near drive flanges/firewall. Disconnect electrical connector. With hand try to rotate (anticlockwise) the speed to remove it. If you are not able to rotate, use 17mm deep socket, the one used to remove the diesel injectors on 1985-92 diesel vws. After removing it, look underneath the sensor for a shaft. Turn the shaft and see if it cause the dash speedo needle to move or rotate. If it does, that means that the sensor is ok and the portion going inside the transmission that has gears is bad. You can remove that portion with an open end wrench and replace with a new one
