To replace an expansion valve (MPV), first, ensure the HVAC system is turned off and the refrigerant is properly evacuated. Disconnect the refrigerant lines and electrical connections from the old valve, then remove it from its mounting. Install the new expansion valve by securing it in place, reconnecting the refrigerant lines and electrical connections, and finally, recharge the system with refrigerant to the appropriate level. Always check for leaks and ensure proper system operation after the replacement.
