The "knock sensors" for the Avalon 3.0 are facing the firewall on the engine block just below the cylinder head ,their are two knock sensors .
I was told at Autozone it is a Knock Sensor Circuit
replace it.
To change the knock sensor on a 1995 Toyota Avalon, first disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Locate the knock sensor, which is typically found on the engine block or cylinder head; you may need to remove the intake manifold for better access. Unplug the electrical connector and unscrew the sensor using a socket or wrench. Install the new sensor by reversing the process, ensuring a secure connection and proper torque specifications.
On a Toyota Avalon, the knock sensor is typically located on the engine block or cylinder head. It is usually positioned on the side of the engine, often near the intake manifold or the rear of the engine. The exact location can vary slightly depending on the model year, so consulting the vehicle's service manual for specific details is advisable.
where is the knock sensor on a 95 Toyota t100 v6
the knock sensor is located on the driver side of the engine right under the intake it is about 1 in. it is connected so you will have to unplug it and then just screw it off
To replace the knock sensors on a 1996 Toyota Avalon, first disconnect the battery to ensure safety. Remove the intake manifold to access the sensors located on the engine block. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the old sensors, unscrew them, and install the new sensors. Finally, reassemble the intake manifold, reconnect the battery, and start the engine to check for proper operation.
To replace the knock sensors on a 2000 Toyota Avalon, first disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical issues. Then, remove the intake manifold to access the knock sensors located on the engine block. Disconnect the wiring harness from the old sensors, unscrew them, and install the new sensors, ensuring they are properly torqued. Finally, reassemble the intake manifold, reconnect the battery, and check for any error codes.
Unless you are skilled in working with engines, I would advise you to bring it to a mechanic. If you are, get either a Hayes or Toyota manuel and go step by step to taking apart your engine. The knock sensor is in the exact middle of the engine.
