The "knock sensors" for the Avalon 3.0 are facing the firewall on the engine block just below the cylinder head ,their are two knock sensors .
I was told at Autozone it is a Knock Sensor Circuit
engine bay
Knock sensor is located in the wall of the engine block facing the firewall. You have lift the car if you want to reach it.
The manufacturer states throttle body and the intake manifold must be removed to access the knock sensor. The knock sensor is located on side of cylinder block.
To change the knock sensor on a 1995 Toyota Avalon, first disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Locate the knock sensor, which is typically found on the engine block or cylinder head; you may need to remove the intake manifold for better access. Unplug the electrical connector and unscrew the sensor using a socket or wrench. Install the new sensor by reversing the process, ensuring a secure connection and proper torque specifications.
The Knock sesor is located on the backside of the block right underneath intake manifold.
It should be in the side of the engine facing the firewall.
it's located under the intake manifold. the knock sensor is most likely ok' the porblem is the short wiring harness from sensor to main wire harness.
