To repair the light switch on a 1985 Nissan 300ZX, first disconnect the battery to ensure safety. Remove the switch by unscrewing the mounting screws and disconnecting the wiring harness. Inspect the switch for damage; if it's faulty, replace it with a new or used part. Reassemble by reconnecting the harness, securing the switch in place, and reconnecting the battery to test functionality.
it is located on the transmission itself
To remove the brake light switch on a 1996 Nissan 300ZX, first disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent any electrical issues. Locate the brake light switch, which is typically found near the top of the brake pedal assembly. Unscrew the switch from its mounting position and disconnect the wiring harness. Finally, remove the switch from the bracket, and you can replace it with a new one if needed.

In a 1990 Nissan 300ZX, the cylinder switch, also known as the ignition switch, is located on the steering column. To access it, you typically need to remove the plastic cover around the steering column. The switch is mounted near the ignition lock cylinder, which is where the key is inserted to start the vehicle.
I'm 99.6% sure there isn't one designed into the system.
