In a 1995 Mitsubishi Galant, the speedometer cable is typically located on the transmission. It connects to the speedometer drive gear on the transmission and runs up through the firewall to the dashboard, where it connects to the speedometer gauge. To access it, you may need to lift the vehicle and remove any protective covers for better visibility.
To replace the alternator on a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant, first disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the drive belt by loosening the tensioner. Unbolt the alternator from its mounting bracket and disconnect the electrical connectors. Install the new alternator by reversing the removal steps, ensuring all connections are secure, then reattach the drive belt and reconnect the battery. Finally, start the engine to confirm the new alternator is functioning properly.
The best/easiest way is to pull the ground cable to the battery for 1 minute and re-connect.
To change the transmission cable on a Mitsubishi Lancer, first, ensure the vehicle is securely lifted and supported. Disconnect the negative battery terminal, then remove the cable from the transmission by detaching any clips or bolts holding it in place. Next, detach the cable from the gear shifter inside the vehicle, and replace it with the new cable by reversing the disconnection process. Finally, reattach the battery terminal, check for proper operation, and adjust as necessary.
There are several things that can cause your 2003 Mitsubishi Gallant speedometer not to work. The most common cause is a malfunctioning speedometer cable.
You generally can't replace the guide without replacing the cable. If the transmission still shifts easily, you don't need to replace the cable immediately (as in, it is not an emergency) however you should plan to replace it as soon as you can. yes you do there is no getting around it, sorry
You don't , you replace the linkage cable from shifter to transmission

The transmission oil pan needs to be dropped, then you can disconnect the detent cable, remove the small bolt holding the sheath to the outside of the transmission then slide it out of the transmission. Be sure the o-ring is in good condition or just replace it when installing the cable back in.
possible cable Remove from transmission and check if in one piece - if not remove speedometer head and replace cable to transmission and head
There are two cables. One is the Throttle valve (TV) cable and that should go from the throttle linkage to the transmission. It will pop off the throttle arm and there is one bolt holding the cable housing to the transmission. take it out the bolt and unhook the linkage and replace the cable making sure to snap it back on at the throttle arm. The other cable is the for shifting and it should attach to a lever arm on the side of your transmission and go to the shifter linkage. If you are under the car and have someone shift with the car off you will see the the arm moving disconnect it from both ends of the cable and replace.
