I believe there is a pin on the back of the shifter knob.I don't remember which way it comes out, when you look at it you will figure it out, but when it does, the knob will come off.
No. it will not fit.
Are you asking about the shift lever on a column shift car or the console shift handle?
3 filters total don't replace them they are fine. just change the fluid. unless you are having issues the shift solenoids are known to break its a $100 - $200 fix
The cable is part of the shift indicator assy . Must be replaced as a unit
The shift solenoid on a 2003 Cadillac Seville SLS is located inside the transmission. Specifically, it can typically be found on the valve body, which is accessed by removing the transmission pan and the valve body itself. It's advisable to consult a repair manual for detailed instructions and diagrams specific to your vehicle.
It releases automatically when you shift out of park. If you have to do it manually under the parking brake is a silver handle that releases it.
its the bitsi cylinoid in your gear shift which allows u to take the car out of park when u engage the brake u need to replace your gear shift assembly i just replaced mine 400 bucks
Four little clips slide under the edges to hold it in place. You can upgrade to a new style shift handle that comes with the boot for about $70 and it looks much better. You have to take the handle off anyway and it's attached to the handle in one piece. We have pics and a "how to" at www.trailvoy.com
You have to make sure you are in NEUTRAL first!
I suspect you mean the neutral/safety switch. It is at the end of the shift cable, on top of the transmission, just below the brake booster. It is the main reason for not starting, not the starters! Wally of Hagerstown, MD
I am going to say probably not because the button on the left side of the shifter handle is a lock that you have to push to move it out of Park.edit...spelling correction
There is a small clip on the side of the leather handle. Pull this clip out, then the shift handle will come off.
