Take timing belt covers off, take timing belt off, pump is to the left of oil pan, and pump should be right there behind a pulley, go ahead and take it off, if you do, you should replace gasket right behind it, most places sell gasket for about 2-5 bucks.
The starter is interchangable between all 1990-1994 Legacies and maybe even up to 1999.
its a good idea yes..
on an ej20 and ej22 subaru engines the starter is located at the top of the engine and is held by a bolt at the top and a nut at the bottom once you have removed these the starter will slide out back towards the firewall

Rotors or drums warped. Have them turned.
I have an '01 MY02 (Gen III) Liberty (Legacy) that has hill holder :) My 1994 Loyale has it.
It is located on the passenger side fuel rail closest to the firewall.
You don't. Timing is adjusted totally automatically by your ECU.
