the light will reset itself when the problem is fixed, therefore the problem has not been fixed. take it back!
As an alternative to waiting for the system to decide the problem is fixed you could plug an OBD II reader into the port under the dash. The reader can be used to turn warning lights off and reset the system. Note, as mentioned above, if the problem isn't really fixed the light will come on again.
