The key fob is a radio transmitter that sends an ID sequence (the serial number of the fob) out when you press the button. Any key fob that works for any car like yours has the potential to be used to unlock your car doors. Generally the car stops listening to your key fobs if the power is cut to the battery. There's a sequence that you need to follow to tell the car's computer to go into learning mode. Once the computer is ready to learn, you'll need to press any button on each fob that you want your car to listen to. You'll need all of the fobs at once.
