A 2001 Mitsubishi Diamante LS typically has a lifespan of around 150,000 to 200,000 miles with proper maintenance. However, anything over 200,000 miles might be considered high mileage for this model, which could lead to increased repair needs and potential reliability issues. It's essential to evaluate the vehicle's maintenance history and overall condition rather than just focusing on the mileage.

I have 200k miles on my 97 Diamante. Still looks and runs great.
The 2001 Mitsubishi Diamante typically has two catalytic converters. One is located in the front exhaust system, and the other is in the rear. This setup is common for vehicles with dual exhaust systems to help meet emissions regulations. Always check the specific model and engine type, as variations may exist.
The 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage has 12 valves.

Mitsubishi didn't really stop making the diamante, but the diamante is a lesser known model made by the Mitsubishi company. The Diamante came out in 89-90 and they have been making them every year since, but many people haven't heard or seen many of them because there aren't really all that many produced. While I don't know if they plan on (and personally i hope they don't) discontinuing this model, I do know that they plan on having new ones out in 2012 and 2013 as well. After that we will just have to wait and see.
