The price is going to vary depending on where you take it, but the gasket itself is only about $75-$125 including new bolts, which you will need if the car has some miles on it. If you can buy the parts yourself (check on eBay or rockauto.com) but other than that, you should expect to pay no more than a few hundred for labor. I had mine redone recently and I bought all the parts to take to my mechanic. Now my mechanic is a friend of mine, but it only took him about an hour & 1/2 to do. So long as you don't need any work done to the head itself. That will require a trip to a machine shop, and could run $150-$300 for resurfacing or replacement valves and/or lifters/sleaves & springs. With any head work, you should be looking at $250-$300 (if you can fine a resonable mechanic) including parts. With some machine shop costs if the head needs some work, you could be getting into the $500-600 price range. If you head needs a lot of work, you might be better off getting a salvage head off a 4G64 motor (that's the 2.4L I4 in the Galant) and doing a head swap.
