First if you pull the head you need to take it to a good machine shop. They need to check the head for warp age.It also depends on mileage of you car you may want to have the head reworked.Valves checks valve guide seals changed in other words have the head disassembled and whatever needs changing do so. The cost is around 400.00 to 500.00 dollars.Pulling the head is alot of work. You should also invest in a new timing belt and pulleys associated with the timing belt.You should change the water pump also. Do not be cheap on anything you do on your car if is in good condition.The total cost with a head gasket set new head bolts a water pump timing belt pulleys . May be around 800.00 dollars or so.
