To replace the brake pads on a Toyota Tercel a jack is needed. Some other tools that will be used are a socket wrench, screwdriver, lug wrench, and a pair of pliers.
The 1996 Toyota Tercel brake cable runs from the emergency brake lever to the rear wheel. The emergency brake is on the passenger side rear wheel.
Buy a new one and you will see what all you have to take loose.
To replace the brake light on a 1995 Toyota Tercel, first, open the trunk and remove the plastic cover or trim panel on the side where the brake light is located. If it is the tail lights, it is the headlight switch. If it is the brake lights, it is probably the brake light switch. I really don't know how to replace the bulb in the 3rd light. change the brake light bulb first it may be shorted causeing the other problem
Toyato never made Tercels. :P But the Toyota Tercel's brake light switch is located ON the brake pedal just above the viewable area.
You normally gain access to the bulb from inside the trunk.
