I have 2001 Honda Accord EX-L (V6). I was quoted $125 by a local mobile mechanic, which was $25 for the belts and $100 for an hour labor. However I ended up taking it over to Midas. They were able to change it right away. I took a little over an hour and the price came to $205. I live in Honolulu, Hi., where labor prices are kind of high, so YMMV.
about $200
2001 accord is a timing chain
105,000 miles
Answer: Timing Belt
Both the I4 and V6 engine in the Accord have timing belts.
Timing BELT
I don't know about 2006, in the 2001 it's at 105k miles
The 2001 Honda Accord 4 cylinder and V6 both have a timing (cam) belt. The belt must be replaced every 105,000 miles. Warning: This is an interference engine. If they belt breaks you will have internal engine damage.
Check the owners manual for exact mileage guidelines. If you do not have a manual, I would change the belt every 100,000 miles to be safe.
The 2001 Honda Accord has 16 valves.
Around $900 at a Honda dealer including water pump replacement.
