Getting a factory terminal is likely not worth it.
First make sure the battery cable has enough slack to cut off the terminal, shave back the insulation and use a new terminal. If you don't have enough slack, you'll need to replace the entire cable.
If you have enough, remove the battery to save yourself from accidentally grounding/shorting our the battery.
Remove the negative battery cable, then remove the positive. Remove the battery.
Cut the battery cable where the terminal is. Strip about an inch of insulation. For my 2003 TL, I had to use the truck size terminal from Autozone as the normal one would not fit the 2 battery cables. Truck size = $3.50, car size = $2.99, not a big difference. Make sure the cable is free of corrosion. If there is any of the powder blue dust, clean it all out with a wire brush. Get the battery cable into the new terminal and tighten. Use electrical tape to cover any excess uncovered battery cable. Pop the battery back in, install the positive terminal then the negative terminal.
To change the battery in a 2006 Acura RSX, first ensure the vehicle is turned off and the keys are removed. Open the hood and locate the battery; disconnect the negative terminal (black) first, followed by the positive terminal (red). Remove any securing brackets or covers, then take out the old battery and replace it with the new one, connecting the positive terminal first, followed by the negative. Finally, ensure everything is secure and close the hood.
To change the battery in a 2004 Acura RSX, first, ensure the vehicle is turned off and parked on a level surface. Open the hood and locate the battery; disconnect the negative terminal (black) first, followed by the positive terminal (red). Remove the battery hold-down clamp, then lift out the old battery. Place the new battery in the tray, reconnect the positive terminal first, followed by the negative terminal, and secure the hold-down clamp.
To replace the clock in a 1996 Acura RL, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Remove the dashboard trim panel surrounding the clock by gently prying it off. Unscrew the clock unit from its housing, disconnect the wiring harness, and replace it with the new clock. Finally, reassemble the dashboard trim and reconnect the battery.
To replace the EGR valve on a 1999 Acura 3.2 TL, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Remove the EGR pipe and the two bolts securing the EGR valve to the intake manifold. Install the new EGR valve, reattach the bolts, and reconnect the EGR pipe. Finally, reconnect the battery terminal and start the engine to check for leaks.
To replace the light in the AC controls of a 2006 Acura RSX, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Then, carefully remove the center console panel by prying it off with a flat tool, being cautious not to damage any clips. Once exposed, locate the AC control unit, detach it, and replace the burnt-out bulb with a new one. Reassemble the unit and reconnect the battery terminal to complete the process.
To replace the main relay on a 1996 Acura RL, first, ensure the ignition is off and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Locate the main relay, which is typically found under the dashboard near the driver's side. Remove the old relay by carefully disconnecting the wiring harness and pulling it out of its socket. Insert the new relay into the socket, reconnect the wiring harness, and reconnect the battery terminal to complete the replacement.
To replace the speedometer on a 1996 Acura TL, start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for safety. Remove the dashboard trim and the screws holding the instrument cluster in place. Carefully pull out the cluster and disconnect the wiring harness. Finally, replace the old speedometer with the new one, reconnect everything, and reassemble the dashboard.
To replace the starter on an Acura RL, begin by disconnecting the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shock. Next, remove any components obstructing access to the starter, such as the air intake duct or engine covers. Then, unbolt the starter from its mounting location, disconnect the wiring harness, and replace it with the new starter. Finally, reassemble any removed parts, reconnect the battery, and test the new starter.
To replace the starter on a 1999 Acura 3.0 CL, first disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Then, remove the intake manifold or any components obstructing access to the starter, typically located near the transmission. Unbolt the starter, disconnect the electrical connections, and replace it with the new starter. Finally, reassemble any removed parts, reconnect the battery, and test the new starter.
To replace the alternator belt on an Acura CL, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Then, locate the belt tensioner and use a wrench to relieve tension on the belt, allowing you to remove the old belt. Install the new belt by routing it according to the belt diagram usually found on a sticker in the engine bay, then reapply tension using the tensioner. Finally, reconnect the battery terminal and start the engine to check for proper operation.
Remove the negative battery terminal for three minutes.
To replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on an Acura RL, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Locate the VSS, which is typically situated on the transmission; remove any components obstructing access. Unscrew the old sensor, replace it with the new one, and reconnect any wiring. Finally, reassemble any removed parts, reconnect the battery, and test the vehicle to ensure the new sensor is functioning properly.
