You will need to purchase a workshop manual from an auto shop or borrow one from a library specific to your vehicle. from the manual you will be told what parts you need, what tools you need and exactly how to do it yourself. However, because of the age of your vehicle, the drums may need to be remachined because they are no longer perfectly round. you can determine this by rotating the wheel with the handbrake off. if it grabs and won't turn completely it is often because the drum is not round. this should only be done by a professional organization.
Unless you are very careful, and know what you're doing or have someone to assist you who knows what they are doing it is not advisable to do your own brakes before you have some knowledge of the mechanics of your vehicle. maybe you should talk to a mechanic and see if he will allow you to do the job under his supervision.

Check the LPV (Load proportioning valve), if fitted. It controls the amount of rear vs front braking under "heavy" loads, if faulty it will cause rear lock up. Another thing to check is that front brakes have been bled, and the front brake circuit is working at all.
