it is a loose solder joint...meaning behind your dash the connection is loose....take out the screws on the top of the dash and pull out. If you have an automatic transmission, there is a sensor right behind the oil filter. Sometimes the sensor goes bad and needs to be replaced for about $156 at Nissan. I have found that by sometimes jiggling the wires by pushing them gently into the sensor can solve the problem for months at a time. -V-
take it to the Nissan dealer like I did with my 93 altima with heads up display. The first mechanic that tried, suggested this, and it works fine now.
Is this a question or statement? My speedometer works fine. Perhaps you should be more specific.
Only high beams work on my 93 Nissan maxima. Had new headlight put in but still doesn't work. What may this be? Thanks you so much
Bring lock cylinder and key to locksmith for re-keying
Under the hood on the drivers side there is another fuse panel
for the check engine light go to autozone and they will diagnose your engine for free as for the speedometer you will proobably have to replace the speed sensor
Have the same problem...you need to see if it is a lose solder so you can remove the dash screws and pull out the head or you can see if you have a sensor. Look behind the oil filter and there should be a box with a wire the wire will run back to the speedometer head. Sometimes a quick fix can be to GENTLY push the wires toward the sensor. If none of this works take it in to the Nissan dealer and get it fixed it costs around 150 dollars. Check the fuses in the box they will be labeled cluster interior or dash.b Also check the fuseable links.
Hi There, On my 1995 Nissan Pick-up, The speedometer as well as the tachometer would intermittenly stop working. Sometimes one would work then the other would stop working, sometimes both stopped working at the same time. I never knew when it would happen. Then, at 90,000 miles, the Check Engine light came on and everything worked GREAT. It turns out that the wire that sets off the Check Engine light was shroting out causing the problems. It was fixed today for a cost of $160.65. It worked for me, I hope that it works for you. Good Luck!
The speedometer needs to work in a vehicle for safety and informative reasons. The causes of it intermittently working could be the lack of electricity, or a problem with the sensor.Ê
Yes. My 91 Stanza was running poorly, poor gas milage, the speedometer works sometimes, when i hit a bump it will do the opposite - if it was working and i hit a bump it will stop working until i hit another bump. I resolder each solder at the back of it and problem solved. Better gas milage.
it is only the drivers side wiper that is having the problem it works randomly but does not go all the way across the windshiled when it does work. The passenger side windshield wiper works fine.
the speedometer on focuses is controlled electronically by a speed sensor located at the rear of the transmission on left hand side of car. it would appear you have a faulty sensor.
