You can reset the 2004 Honda Accord check engine light by removing the instrument light fuse. The location of the fuse can be found on the inside cover of the fuse box.

If the Check Engine light is on, then you have a problem with the emissions system. Once the repair is made the light must be reset with an OBD2 scan tool. If you do not repair the problem the light will just come back on.
It must be reset by a Honda Dealer. The light is on because there is a problem with the system. I am sure you do not want the airbag to not function as it should or prematurely deploy.
