The Mitsubishi Montero is okay for offroad driving. It is by no means even close to being ideal for it. You're better off looking for a well equipped American built 4x4 Truck.
There is a good chance that they will be able and willing to do routine maintence. On the other hand they will NOT be able to do any warranty work. Your local Mitsubishi dealership will most likely not be able to get parts for a 2010 montero other than common filters or parts it may share with the last montero sold in the states.
Montero is a great vehicle, but don't bother with the two wheel drive version in snow country -- you might as well be driving a pickup truck with sand bags in the back. It will do OK in anything less than 4 inches but forget it after that, at least in Wisconsin.
If it's the same 3.0L engine they put in the 2001 Montero Sport, the alternator is (looking from the front of the engine into the bay) located on the left side of the motor, toward the radiator, down low. It's straight below the power steering pump. There should be a belt that runs from the crankshaft to the alternator. Good luck... I'm on my third in 3 months.
We have a 1995 Mitsubishi Montero (the people that brought your the fighter ZERO) and when it came time for a tune-up we couldn't get the plugs out. The car dealer here charged us over 500 dollars for a tune up and they had to remove the top part of the engine to reach the plugs, hence the large dollar value. We will NEVER own another Mitsubishi again! Good luck:)
No. Your engine will turn more RPMS and your gas mileage will not be as good.
Voltage regulator is built into the Alternator/brush carrier. Requires removal and at least partial dis-assembly of the Alternator to change out. Good luck.
Check your battery post to make sure u have a good connection
Contact the dealer from where the Montero was originally purchased (new from showroom). Give them the Chasis number and they will provide you with the stereo lock code from their records. In-case the code is same for all 1997 Montero sports models then use the number 9613. This is the audio code of my Montero sport 1997 . Maybe it works in yours too! Good luck.
On a 1995 Mitsubishi Montero Sport, the fuel pump is primarily powered by the fuel pump relay, which is located in the fuse box under the dashboard. Additionally, there is a 15-amp fuse designated for the fuel pump in the same fuse box that protects the circuit. If the fuel pump is not functioning, checking both the relay and the fuse is a good first step in troubleshooting.
mitsubishi is a good make so they should be good!
Yes, the Mitsubishi Montero typically has a fuse for the power antenna, usually located in the fuse box. It's important to check the owner's manual for the exact fuse number and specifications. If the power antenna is not functioning, inspecting the fuse for any damage or failure is a good first step in troubleshooting the issue.
