Yes there were four recalls, but only two from Toyota. One recall is from an aftermarket manufacturer of runniung light lenses,

sold to fit Corollas that do not meet DOT specifications for use in US or Canada. Another recall was for rear wheel hub bolts, that could come loose form non specification torquing of bolts during assembly. No incidents have resulted from recalls. The non torqued rear wheel hubs were traced to a disgruntled employee intentionally failing to tighten bolts. They were caught in quality control before they left the assembly plant, but Toyota issued a recall to just make sure none got by them. I for one commend Toyota for not trying to do a coverup.
