rear main seal
Engine seal? Valve cover? Oil pressure sending unit?
An oil leak is always going to be out of the engine as the engine contains oil and the car does not. I think you are saying you are loosing oil with no apparent leak. If that is the case the engine is burning oil and that is why you see no leaks.
engine oil leak
If you have an engine oil leak on your 2002 Peugeot 206 1.4, you can use an oil stop-leak product to fix it.
There are a number of places an Oil Leak can occur take your pick.
they leak oil from the oil pump on the front of the engine
1) A hole or crack in the engine block 2) leak in any oil passageways or hoses. 3) Missing oil pan plug. It would be best to get underneath your car and look for oil leaks. If ALL your oil is gone then you should have no problem identifying the leak. Pour a little oil in the engine oil filler hole and see where it leaks back out. DO Not drive without oil!!!! you'll ruin your engine.
If it is red fluid leaking, then you have a transmission leak. If it is oil then the rear main oil seal is leaking on the back of the engine. You need to look at the top back part of the engine to make sure the back of the intake is not leaking oil, check back corners of the valve covers for leaks too. Need to make sure the oil sending unit that is back beside the distributor is not leaking oil. Ruel these things out before you tackle the rear main oil seal.
your answer is NO...
Oil leaks can be hard to find. Wash the engine good. Keep the oil filled, and look daily for signs of oil, even underneath the engine to see where the leak is.
u will blow your engine oil seals, causing an oil leak and damage to the engine.
Oil pressure as measured by the guage on the dash is usually a measure of the pressure put out by the oil pump and not an indication of a leak or low engine oil level. If you have a leak your best indication of that will be puddles on the ground, on the underside of the engine or a milkiness looking color in the oil (as seen on the dipstick) or in the engine coolant.
