There is a small blue piece of plastic attached to your brake pedal. It engages the brake light switch when you let off the brakes. Mine just broke into a bunch of pieces today. I went to Advance to get a replcement and they don't carry it, neither does anyone else. He recommended I glue 2 pennies together and glue them to the brake petal where I removed the rest of the plastic piece. Problem solved.
You have to take the whole light assembly off by going through the trunk. There is a panel the snaps off the wall of your trunk. In there are a few nuts I believe are 10M that you will take off and the assembly will pull away from your car.
Jack up the front of your 1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Remove the brake pad assembly. Loosen the brake rotor by tapping on it with a hammer or mallet. Slide the brake rotor off. Reverse the process to install the new brake rotor.
