There is no common reason. The light is on because there is a problem with the SRS (Air Bags). It can be many things. Working on the SRS can be very hazardous so this is best left to a professional.

well i had Honda accord 2003 coincidently too, and i had the same problem as u r having, but my right turn indicator wasn't working, i asked the mechanic for the reason and to repair it, it was simple burned wire, so i would suggest u to get it checked with the mechanic, it's not a big deal.
I was told that it is the temp sensor. The car needs to be at 150 degrees. I am working on the same problem.
Provided you could start the car, there is no reason whty you couldn't as they function almost as an automatic does.
The air bag light is on for a reason. That reason is that the computer has detected a problem with the SRS. Take this to a Honda dealer immediately.
