It means something bad is about to happen to the engine. Take it to a garage. 1. check your oil first 2. If oil is right, check oil pressure. 3. If oil pressure is not right your oil pump is going out. other than that, a knocking generally means a bad main or crank bearing.
possible low oil
The knock sensor is located under the intake manifold on the passenger side of the engine. It can be accessed from under the vehicle. Look above and to the slight left of the oil filter on the back of the engine. The knock sensor will resemble a small battery terminal with a bolt through to the engine.
a lot of times its your timing belt, if its more of a knock its could be a rod knock
your knock sensor could need to be replaced
It's time for a new engine.
knock sensor is going bad or is bad
It usually happens in high mileage engines that have excessive wear to the main bearings (which causes the knock) and too much wear to the oil rings on the pistons (which causes the smoke). A slight knock can mean that you need to add a higher octane gasoline, however, when both knocking and smoking occur, it probably means that you'll have to have the engine overhauled.
The knock sensor just advances and retards the engine timing only. If there is a noise in the engine then you have engine are valve train problems. The knock sensor will not make the engine knock.
This is controlled by a knock sensor.
I have a recent engine knock on my 91 escort started out intermittant. I have a recent engine knock on my 91 escort started out intermittant.
knocking as in spark knock? or engine knock? spark knock is adjusted through a knock sensor via ignition timing. eng. knock is due to brg. knock as in low oil pressure or sluge in engine or just a tired motor
NO it will not. If you have a knocking sound then you have trouble inside of the engine.
