i just got a 2011 sorento and noticed the same bulb on the cluster. i noticed the light comes off when aggressively accelerating. i remember the salesman telling me the 6 cylinder model shuts off 2 cylinders when not needed in an attempt to save gas. im putting 2 and 2 together and figuring that while the "eco" is on the vehicle has the 2 unused cylinders shut off.
It saves you gas! But doesn't run as good
That light simply comes on to let you know that you are operating the vehicle economically. You are not accelerating too hard or idling too much to hurt the fuel economy.
It means your engine MDS system (or 4 cylinder shut-down) is engaged. Means your saving fuel.
The ECO Light on a Toyota Sienna comes on when in light acceleration. It holds the Transmission Shift points longer to give the Sienna better fuel economy. under moderate to hard acceleration the ECO light will go off and the transmission will have very quick shift points.
