If it's the factory motor it will have either a 7MGE or 7MGTE. Both are 3.0 inline 6 motors but one is turbo and the other isn't.
Take out the 7M and put a JZ engine in it. www.driftmotion.com
How do you replace the power steering pump for a 1987 Toyota Supra?
On a 1987 Toyota Supra non-turbo, the knock sensor is typically located on the engine block, near the cylinder head, usually on the side of the engine. It's positioned towards the rear of the engine, making it somewhat difficult to access. This sensor monitors engine vibrations to detect knocking or pinging, allowing the engine control unit to adjust timing accordingly.
1986 Supra was non turbo and 1987 came in turbo and non turbo.
If you are looking into the engine bay from the driver side fender it is the silver thing to the right of the fuse box.
