2.6 Liter Mitsubishi Engine
The engine or the top?
No it wil not. You will have to remove the 2 bolt engine out of the truck and then replace it with the 4 bolt engine. 2 engines will not fit in one vehicle silly wrench puller.
To remove a broken crankshaft bolt from a 2000 Mitsubishi Montero with a V-6 3.0L engine, start by ensuring the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Use a drill to carefully create a pilot hole in the center of the broken bolt, then progressively use larger drill bits until you reach the bolt's outer diameter. Once you've drilled deep enough, you can use a bolt extractor or reverse-thread tap to grip and remove the remaining bolt. If necessary, apply penetrating oil to help loosen the bolt before extraction.
No, a Buick V6 will not easily bolt to a 1987 automatic Montero 4x4. The engine mounts, transmission compatibility, and overall engine configuration are significantly different. Custom modifications and adaptations would be necessary to make such an engine swap work, including custom motor mounts and potentially adapting the transmission or using an adapter plate.
no
YES. that would be a direct bolt in/swap
First of all, your smog laws, if any, would not allow this. If you have none, then yes, it will bolt right in. But, I would not do it, because, the 88 has about 100 less hp. NEW ANSWER: Yes that engine will bolt right in. But the problem is that it will never run. You would have to get a 88 computer / ENGINE CONTROL MODULE and the wireing harness for the 88 engine, computer, transmission and fuel pump. You would also have to change the transmission because the 88 computer will not shift the 97 4L60E transmission. You will also have to change the FUEL PUMP. The 88 requires 9 to 13 LBS of fuel pressure and the 97 Must have 60 to 66 LBS to run the 97 vortec engine. This means you will have to spend alot of MONEY to make the 88 engine run. Your best bet would be to put a VORTEC ENGINE BACK IN IT and be done with it.
A loose crank pully retaining bolt will make it leak.
Yes. May have to improvise the kick-down cable.
The 1990 Mitsubishi Montero 3.0 V6 is listed as a non-interference engine. Replace the belt every 60,000 miles.
Yes
The 1998 Montero Sport crankshaft sensor will be located on the rear of the engine. The crankshaft sensor is on the inside of the rear engine cover.
