Usually (on a manual transmission) it is the reverse ring gear that sits in the rear of the transmission in the 5th gear sychro. The springs that holds it in place usually wears out due to heat and use that the gear gets damaged and no longer makes contact enough to lock into place. Or the case itself has become damaged and is misaligned. Also check your cables before pulling the ring gear out. Sometimes they go out of adjustment and can cause the same issue. Hope that helps.
i have a ford focus 1.8 petrol S reg. When i put it into reverse gear it jumps out what is the problem please ?

The 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT typically features a 5-speed manual transmission with gear ratios approximately as follows: 1st gear is about 3.09:1, 2nd gear is around 1.89:1, 3rd gear is approximately 1.29:1, 4th gear is about 0.97:1, and 5th gear is roughly 0.75:1. For the automatic transmission variant, the gear ratios may differ slightly. These ratios contribute to the vehicle's performance characteristics, balancing acceleration and fuel efficiency.
Bad struts can cause vibrations while coasting in first gear on a 1993 Mitsubishi 3000 GT VR4. A bad tire can also cause this.
0 - 60mph is 5.7 sec (top gear test) Mitsubishi gto 3000 Top Gear tested a VR4... Which was 5.7.. 0-60 in a non-VR4 Mitsubishi 3000gt from 1991-93 is approx. 7.5-8 seconds.
Weld center diff and remove front ring gear. Remove front axles. has been done.
the problem is clearly that your driving an eclipse.. you shoud look into trading it in on a Honda
It is possible that for some reason, your reverse gear(s), depending if you have 4WD or not, got grinded away. Check your main gear book on the drive axles. That happened to an old 92 Ford Taurus SHO I had. Good luck!!:)
Yes I would ask Mitsubishi about that because I know someone who had the same problem and it cost them 200 pounds to fix
The engine also jumps when changing to Neutral and Drive. Should I have transmission fluid change? A/C was not on.
To fix the gear shifter in a Mitsubishi 3000GT, first, ensure the car is in neutral and the battery is disconnected for safety. Inspect the shifter assembly for any loose bolts or damaged components, such as bushings or cables, and replace them as necessary. If the issue persists, check the linkage for proper alignment and adjust as needed. Finally, reassemble everything, reconnect the battery, and test the shifter for proper functionality.
why is my 1996 Mitsubishi lancer evo stuck in gear
