I'm not sure what engine you have but on the 4ze1 which is what I have in my trooper having the arrows face both up (cam gear and crank pulley) means the engine is in tdc for the number 4 cylinder. If the arrows are facing one another it is tdc for number 1 cylinder.
what are the timing belt setting for a 1993 Isuzu trooper 3.2 ltr v6 ...
on a 1989 Isuzu pickup with a 2.6 same engine 12 degree b.t.d.c. at 900 rpm
The ignition timing specification for a 1993 Isuzu pickup with a 2.3L engine is typically set at around 10 degrees BTDC (Before Top Dead Center) at idle. It's important to ensure that the engine is at operating temperature and that the timing is checked with a timing light for accuracy. Always refer to the vehicle's service manual for the most precise specifications and adjustments.
On a 1992 Isuzu pickup with a 2.3L carbureted engine, the timing marks are typically located on the crankshaft pulley and the timing cover. The crankshaft pulley will have a notch or mark that aligns with a corresponding mark on the timing cover. To set the ignition timing, you usually align these marks when the engine is at the specified top dead center (TDC) for the number one cylinder. Consult the vehicle’s service manual for the exact TDC position and timing specifications.
If the timing on a 1992 Isuzu pickup with a 2.3L engine won't line up using the number one cylinder, it could be due to several issues. First, ensure that the timing marks on the crankshaft and camshaft are aligned correctly. If they are misaligned, the timing belt or chain may be off, requiring adjustment or replacement. Additionally, check for any issues with the distributor and ignition timing, as they can also affect proper timing.
