Shucks, I'd do it for free just for a chance to see that V-4!!
Assuming you actually have a V-6 under the hood it'll pay you to call around to different shops (including your Toyota dealer(s). Prices vary widely, especially by location. Big city shops tend to charge more than rural shops (where overhead is lower.)
You do have the right idea about changing out the water pump and belt at the same time. The pump is a simple swap with everything already apart for the belt change.
Cheers
2000 Toyota Celica have timing chains.
how much does it cost to replace the timing belt in a 1998 Toyota sienna.
I believe, you need to replace the thermostat gasket.
I have a 1997 Toyota Camry. It is leaking anti-frezze. I need to replace the water pump. Do I have to remove and replace timing belts too?
To replace the water pump on a 2005 Toyota Solara with a 4-cylinder engine, start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal and draining the coolant. Remove the drive belts, timing cover, and timing belt as necessary to access the water pump. After unbolting the old pump, clean the mating surface and install the new pump with a new gasket, reassemble the timing components, and refill the cooling system with fresh coolant. Finally, check for leaks and ensure everything is properly reconnected before starting the engine.
The water pump is driven by the timing belt.
have no idea
You don't have too but it is recommended. My brother owns a garage and he always ask people if they want to replace the timing belt because you are right there at the timing belt anyway.
i want to replace the timing belt of my rav4, so some one told that we have to replace the water pump also, is it necessary can any one answer for this
Just had this done yesterday on my 2002. Timing belt about $500, water pump another $500.
The V6 engine has a timing belt that's scheduled for replacement every 90 thousand miles. It's strongly suggested the water pump be changed at the same time since everything that has to be removed to replace the pump is already off for the belt replacement. The 4 cylinder engine has a timing chain that does not need servicing. Cheers, Gadget
