Can you give more detail? Is it squeak, squeak, squeak or squeeeeeeek? I'm assuming that it only occurs when the car is moving. Does putting the brakes on make it change? --Ken
It does make squeeeeek sound when car is moving and putting brakes on does change it.
cause it's junk
metal, right? Sounds like metal, yes.
a fuse!
would the fan belt on a v8 motor cause squeaking
Probably a rotted exhaust pipe has broken off. Take the car to a muffler shop for repair.
Yes it does. So it's best to replace the timing belt at recommended intervals. Waiting till it breaks could cause serious engine damage.
A worn belt will cause a squealing noise. The squealing noise is caused when the belt slips. Tightening the belt will temporarily fix the problem.
Check the belts. The most common cause of squealing is a worn or loose belt on the front of the engine.
It will sense the engine pre-detonating fuel(usual cause is fuel octane level to low). ECU will adjust timing to prevent damage to engine.
lack of oil
When refilling the oil some may have dripped onto the belt which would cause it to start slipping badly and squealing loudly.
A loose or glazed "fan belt" is a very common cause of squealing. A quieter squeal is produced by brake linings that are almost worn through.
