is it auto or manual?. On a manual there is a filler plug half way up the gearbox ( you have to check this on a hoist or on your back when you are on the grass or on your driveway), you fill the box up until oil runs out of it. If it is an Auto, there is a dipstick in the engine bay, similar to the engine dipstick. there are level marks on the dipstick that tell you whether you are low or have correct amount.
