The ECM on a 2003 Corolla is located directly under the center of the glove compartment. You can see the ECM if you lay on your back looking upward in the front passenger area.
If you remove the one screw on the right side of the glove box (when it is open) you can lift out the glove box and will be looking down on the ECM. By the way, this is all you need to do to access and change the cabin filter.
There are two round black plastic fasteners that hold a front cover over the plugs that go into the ECM. These fasteners are removed by gently prying them downward with a screwdriver. The fasteners don't have a "snap", rather they are plastic bolts with concentric indentations rather than a spiral (screw) pattern.

Yes, Received letter, went to dealership and they took care of it. they charged Toyota almost $600 !!! 2005 Corolla owner
Yes. It has a transponder key that if you use the wrong key it will not send the correct code to the ECM. Hence no start.
behind the glove compartment
I was quoted $106 at my local Toyota dealership. It's all labor; no parts involved.
The ECM is located on the driver's side, under the hood on a 2003 Pontiac Montana. It is on the driver's inner fender.
Code 14 means "no IGF signal to the ECM for 4 consecutive IGT signals" which means there is a communication problem between the ECM and distributor...
