It is located at the thermostat housing single wire plug and the upper radiator hose goes to the housing to keep it simple.

On four cylinder models, the water pump will be attached to the timing cover on the front-side of the engine. Typically behind the fan clutch and pulley. On six cylinder models, the water pump is typically in a similar location, but additional accessories may need to be removed to access it.
It is behind the timing case cover behind the crankshaft pulley.You have to remove the timing belt to replace the water pump for this repair.
The 1999 monster 626 water pump is located on the front of the engine. You can follow the top radiator hose directly to the water pump.
It is behind the timing cover just behind the crankshaft pulley that runs the ac,ps,and fan/alternator belt.In short to replace this requires removing the timing belt.This takes about 3 hours or more to do this replacement.I assume you have a leak dripping antifreeze just below the crankshaft or a cooling or heating issue.I have done this job and unless your mechanically inclined take it to a shop for this service.Note it is a good idea to replace the timing belt,and tensioner when do the water pump.
