If the vehicle has an automatic transmission, it will have a dipstick. Manual transmissions do not have a dipstick.
If is the 2.7 litre diesel with the four speed auto then it is on the left hand rear of the engine compartment, just behind the engine oil dipstick. If the manual box then it doesn't have a dipstick, it is a screw in plug in the side of the gearbox itself.
If you are facing the truck it is under the hood on the left side behind the engine up against the fire wall.

If that is an automatic transmission, pull the dipstick and read it, it will tell what fluid to use.
I have a 5-speed manual, about 2 1/2 quarts. On the manual, you just keep pumping in oil through the side opening till it runs out.
