That sensor is located on the upper bell housing of transmission.Or top front of transmission hard to get to.

Nope. Rumor is crankshaft (near the bottom of engine) is only used for diagnostics, now camshaft sensors(s), are needed and are located near the top of the engine.

I am not sure of what year you are talking about. But the 1993 and 1994 Altima does not have a crankshaft sensor(crankshaft position sensor) .....
