The speedometer cable on a 1992 Mazda MX3 is typically located on the transmission housing. It connects to the speed sensor, which measures the speed of the vehicle and sends that information to the speedometer on the dashboard. To access the speedometer cable for inspection or replacement, you may need to remove some components under the hood and possibly underneath the vehicle.
yes, you will have to remove all the plastics from the 94 and put them into the 92, as well as the wiring.
You have to remove the speedometer cable (follow it from the firewall, all the way down to the transmission) Remove the cable, then wiggle the speedometer gear out... add fluid there. Here's a link I found when I was looking into the same thing: http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=70176&hilit=speedometer+cable
