The starter on a 1998 Isuzu Hombre is located on the underside of the engine, near the transmission. Specifically, it is typically found on the driver's side, mounted to the bell housing. To access it, you may need to raise the vehicle and remove any protective covers or components obstructing the starter's location. Always ensure safety precautions are taken when working under the vehicle.

From what I understand, you have to diconnect the exhaust system on the side that the starter motor is located on. To reassemble you have to replace the exhaust gasket with a new one. If you are replacing the starter, there is a GM starter that is a direct replacement for the Isuzu starter and costs quite a bit less.

To remove the alternator from a 1998 Isuzu Hombre, first disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shock. Next, remove the serpentine belt by loosening the tensioner pulley. Then, disconnect the electrical connections from the alternator, followed by unbolting it from the engine block. Finally, carefully lift the alternator out of its mounting position.
You do something.
