Find the battery, follow the wires to the starter to the left of the engine. The solenoid is right there with the starter, just below the surface. At least that's where mine is.
The above would be the STARTER SOLENOID switch. NOT the same.
The VTEC solenoid is on the head, just behind the distributor, small round cylinder about the size of your thumb, with a small bump on top. It is attached to the back side of the head, passenger side of the car.

yes it will, but the 95 is obd1 and the 98 is obd2, if you switch the intake manifold and keep the obd2 sensors, you shouldn't get any codes assuming neither engine is vtec, if the 95 is vtec than you just wont use the vtec wires, if the 98 is vtec you will have to hook it up, but the engine will run fine even without the vtec hooked up.
yes, im guessing its a stock d series engine. if both had vtec you will ned minor modifications and if the new engine has vtec where as the 95 did not, you will need a new computer/ wire harness. motor mounts will be the same as well
on the back of the head to the left of the intake mani.
